GPS - The Movie Screenings
Things look to be heating up for “GPS - The Movie”. We see that there are a couple of more screenings coming up in the next few months.
In production since 2005, “GPS - The Movie” tells the story of a pair of scavenger hunt enthusiasts who embark upon a camping trip with a group of old friends, following the trail of a mysterious invitation with hopes of finding fortune. When the trail leads them to photographs of a masked woman tied to a chair along with a new set of coordinates, their search takes a frightening turn.
Based on true events, the story is set amidst some of the most stunning and frightening locations in Washington State.

In a past press release we read “For the first time in feature film history, the GPS device that fueled an underground hobby has morphed into a movie that is sure to be a crowd favorite and one that might make hunt enthusiasts think twice before leaving on one of these adventures.” Although horror is not a movie genre that we usually watch we’re thinking twice already!
If/when this movie reaches wide-spread distribution (and it is looking good that it will) it will certainly bring more awareness to Geocaching. Do you believe that this type of promotion will be good for the sport, or not? Leave us a comment with your views.

Keep on cachin’!

I watched the trailer and although the premise for the movie seemed promising, I thought it cheesy after watching it. Somehow, I don’t think Geocaching will draw negative publicity on account of this movie. I do expect to start finding small coffin containers buried in the woods now.
LOL! As long as they are not micros!
I am not much into thrillers. So I would probably pass. Hard to say the hype it may create.
We’re not into thrillers either, unless it’s an old Hitchcock movie. Now those were thrillers!
Thanks for the comment!
