Geocaching With Your iPhone Available!
Geocaching with your iPhone has arrived! We mentioned a couple of weeks ago in our 09/28/08 - Geocaching In The News post that Groundspeak had a new application coming that would allow you to Geocache with your iPhone and it is now available!
What’s cool about this application is that it will allow real-time, direct access to GC’s database of Geocaches and shows details such as description, hints, recent logs, trackable item lookups and full navigation capability. You can also geocode addresses, search or look up a cache by it’s GC code.

Your iPhone 3G uses a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi positioning and cell towers to determine your approximate location then the application queries the GC database in real-time and provides a list of Geocaches near you.
Just think about it - no more downloading, no more preparing, you just cache anytime from wherever you are! This is way too cool!

Keep on cachin’!

If the iPhone ever goes to Verizon, I might seriously look into this…
That would be neat to have. Of course, the only real advantages of that over the Colorado/Oregon are the real-time capability, and the travel aspect.
Well, that settles it… I’ll have to get me an iPhone for Christmas!
word on the net is it isn’t worth 10.00. But that is a subjective thing
