It was a slow time in the world of Geocaching this past week or so, at least in the news world. It must be the time of the season! We guess that like us, Geocachers everywhere are extremely busy getting ready for the holidays, making their list and checking it twice, visiting friends and family and generally preparing for a bit of holiday fun and fare (we can’t wait!).
There were a couple of cachers in the news though that makes for some entertaining reading:
Geocachers Robert and Meggin Mayben of Alabama are featured in this article form the Demopolis Times here.
Justin Ellis, Greg and Jan Putnam of Yankton, South Dakota share some stories and info about their Geocaching adventures here.
erycka & wichie from Cape Cod are mentioned in this article about the Green Monster Series of 23 caches. You can read more here.
Follow along as Firestar and his 14 year-old grandson, OHBuckeye from Northwest Ohio take you on a Geocaching outing in this article here.
And speaking of the holidays Geocaching becomes a part of the Christmas season celebrations here in Holly, Michigan with a ‘scavenger hunt’!
Things got pretty exciting in the HooHaa GeoChallenge Race when it looked like HeadHardHat’s ‘Just A Nut’ went missing. Heavy debate went on whether or not a replacement TB would, or could, be brought in to continue the race and the rules surrounding such. However, at the 11th hour the cacher who was just moving the TB posted to the log! Whewww! This was a close one.
And that’s the way we saw this week in Geocaching! Seriously, these were a few interesting Geocaching related news articles that we came across this week that we wanted to share.
Keep on cachin’!
